Two Java development tracks will cover sessions in the following areas:

Java EE 6 and GlassFish Top

Java SE 6 Top 10 features, Java SE 7 and OpenJDK Top

This session will talk about the most important enhancements in Java SE 6, give a preview of some major features proposed for Java SE 7. OpenJDK, the project to open source Java will be introduced as well.

Next Generation Web and Java Server Faces Top

In this session we'll explore how we can leverage the JSF architecture to work with Ajax. We'll dive into the code from a page author and component developer's perspective, and take a detailed look at the Dynamic Faces Ajax framework. Finally, we will wrap up with a summary of tools and other Ajax/JSF frameworks that are available today.

Consumer JRE: Java on Every Desktop OR Java Performance Myths Top

More than 91% of all PCs run Java Platform 77% of all Java-enabled PCs run Sun's Java SE, 9 out of 10 PC OEMs ship the JRE software, and more than 50 million download and installed in the first half of 2007. But there are still plenty to do to make the consumer JRE smaller, installed faster, and look better.

Project Metro and REST: Web Services Everywhere Top

This session provides a brief REST primer and then outlines how to use the current API design with Live code demonstrations.

Java ME: Extreme GUI Makeover for Mobile Phones Top

We'll leverage some sample code from that project which provides us with a useful real-world web services-based business search and mapping application. Next, we give a quick introduction in SVG technology and JSR 226. Then, we take the lcdui-based search and mapping application and perform a step-by-step radical makeover of the UI using SVG and JSR 226. At the end we will demonstrate a highly usable and visually appealing version of the original application.

SOA using OpenESB and JCAP Top

This session starts with a brief introduction on what BPEL is and its relationship with WSDL. A concrete example will be used to explain how a typical business process can be described using BPEL. It then briefly talks about concept and architecture of JBI and Open ESB. Also how Java EE platform and applications can participate in the Open ESB based architecture will be described.

The rest of the session is devoted to show-and-telling how to develop a composite application step by step using SOA features of NetBeans 6.0.
